Olden Shore Excursion: the Amazing Briksdal Glacier

1.Olden Shore Excursion: the Amazing Briksdal Glacier

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 431 reviews · 4 hours (approx.) · from $128Our pick

Meet near Olden’s cruise pier for a guided ride along Oldevatnet, a photo stop, and a walk from Briksdalsbre Mountain Lodge to the glacier lake. The trail is wide but uphill, with waterfalls and mountain views. Troll cars can shorten the walk, though a final walk remains.

“This was an amazing excursion. Lulu was our guide and she did an incredible job. She explained things that the bus drove by. This was a double decker bus. On the hike every step you took was gorgeous. The waterfalls and river were torrential but beautiful. The glacier itself was so amazing. It was just above a beautiful lake filled with glacial water. The trail was paved and quite easy.”

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 23 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $128Top rated

Join local guide Ben for an easy-paced, two-hour e-bike ride through Olden. You’ll cycle for about an hour, with stops at Singerheimen, Laukifossen, and Olden Old Church. Bikes, helmets, and a professional guide are included. Bring your own drink and snack.

“The excursion is owned and run by an Olden local who was born and raised in Olden. Price was very affordable and not rushed. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area since he grew up here and was well aware of the town’s history and shared it with us. Olden, like most of Norway, is one of the most visually stunning places we have ever visited. To see it up close on bike was amazing. The tour was very affordable, much less expensive than booking with the cruise line. It was supposed to last 2 hours but we got an extra 15 minutes or so. Bikes were very high quality…”

★★★★★★★★★★3.5 · 16 reviews · from $140

“Seeing the fjiords from a different perspective. Snow and water at the top of Stegastein, as well as the over look.”
