From late May to mid July the sun stays up, and the tours simply move to the middle of the night. The 12 below cover the kayaks, the hikes and the boats, with prices and the exact weeks they run.
Paddle a double kayak from Eggum for three hours with guides such as Lucio, Israel, and Santi. You will cross calm coastal water, pause on a small island for hot drinks and snacks, and watch the midnight sun hover over the open ocean. No kayaking experience is required.

Meet at Eggum Harbour at 10 pm for a three-hour double-kayak trip along the coast and nearby islands. No experience is needed. Guides such as Lucio, Israel, Santiago, and Juke provide safety help, local stories, wildlife notes, tea, cookies, and photos when conditions allow. From August, the start time shifts with sunset.

Travel from Tromsø to Sommarøy by minibus or coach, stopping at fjords, mountain viewpoints, and coastal photo spots. Join a local English or Norwegian speaking skipper at 9 p.m. in Henningsvær for a 2-hour RIB boat safari. You’ll pass narrow straits toward the open ocean in the soft midnight light, looking for sea eagles, seals, puffins, and possibly whales. Dry suits, life vests, and gloves are provided.

From Tromsø’s floating jetty, you’ll spend three hours aboard a Lagoon 450 catamaran, with outdoor daybeds, a sea-level net, thermal suits, warm drinks, and traditional fish soup. An English-speaking skipper, including Captain Per on some sailings, guides the cruise. Weather or low demand can affect the boat and schedule.

At Hov Gård on Gimsøya, you’ll learn basic riding skills before following a horse along the coast toward Hovsund. Expect 90 minutes of slow riding through golden midnight-sun light, past fish-drying racks, old Viking settlement sites, mountains, and an Arctic beach. English-speaking guides, including Liss, lead small groups of up to eight.

Leave Tromsø for the coast and walk an easy trail up a small mountain in the warm light of the midnight sun. Your English-speaking guide shares details about local plants and animals while you take in fjords, peaks, and valleys. The small group is limited to 15, with sandwiches, hiking poles, a backpack, and souvenir photos included.
Join Wandering Owl for a 4 to 5 hour evening from central Tromsø to the coast. Guides such as Ellie, Evgeni, and Anthony lead a small group to a beach camp, cook a warm meal over a fire, bake bread, and point out fjords, reindeer, and the soft light of the midnight sun.

Join a private group of up to 12 aboard the S/Y Stella Oceana for a 3.5-hour evening sail from Svolvær. You’ll cruise the Vestfjord toward Skrova and Litlmolla, with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water, cookies, and an onboard restroom included.
